Unfortunately nearly 50% of badgers die in their first year and many of these are road casualties. In fact, more people see badgers this way rather than live in the fields. Consequently, records of dead badgers are vital to the work of the Group. They help us keep records of fatalities as well as being an indicator of badger activity in Herts and Middlesex. The records are also important when new roads are built so that action can be taken to alleviate "black spots". Most of our records come from public sightings which are reported to us. Please help us by sending an e-mail via one of the links below stating when and where you saw the dead badger. The information will reach the relevant local badger co-ordinator.
